What We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as your name and email if you contact us. Our hosting and infrastructure providers also log basic technical details, such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, to keep the site secure and reliable.
Newsletter Subscription
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you provide to manage your subscription and send Ceyora updates. We also use a one-way hash derived from the requesting IP address to limit automated signup abuse; we do not store that signup IP address in readable form. You may unsubscribe or request deletion of your email address by contacting us.
Ceyora Play Subscription & Results
Entering your email and selecting Save and view ranking registers a free Ceyora Play subscription and saves your completed puzzle result. We store your email, your chosen public name (or a generated name for older results), registration date, the article and puzzle version, solving time, completion date, hint and check usage, and replay information. Authorized administrators and editors can access these details to manage Play subscriptions and results. Public rankings show your public name, time and help used, never your email. You may use a nickname and update it from Manage saved result. Play registration does not subscribe you to newsletter or marketing emails. Emails are self-declared and are not verified.
Play Browser Storage & Deletion
Play uses browser storage for puzzle progress and an essential private browser cookie, lasting up to 30 days, to link saved results to that browser. We store a one-way hash of the cookie token and use hashed network identifiers to limit abuse. Unsaved server attempts expire after 30 days and are removed during routine cleanup. Saved subscriptions and results remain until deleted. Clearing cookies, using another browser or expiry may prevent access to your saved results; entering the same email does not restore access. You can remove your current browser's Play subscription and results through Manage saved result, or contact us about access, correction or deletion. Newsletter subscriptions are managed separately.
First-Party Browser Features
Some reader features store information only in your browser, including saved guides, checklist progress, recent searches, dismissed notices, and your privacy choice. This storage supports features you request and is not used by us to build an advertising profile. Clearing your browser data may reset these features.
Cookies & Analytics
Essential browser storage supports security, staff access, and remembering your privacy choice. Optional analytics and advertising storage starts denied. Where Google's certified consent message applies, Google manages the available choices. Elsewhere, our own banner lets you accept or reject optional storage. If optional storage is rejected, Google tags may still send limited cookieless consent and measurement signals where permitted, but they do not receive permission from us to use optional analytics or advertising storage. You can review or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link in the site footer.
Advertising & Google AdSense
This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Depending on your location and privacy choices, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited. Where permitted, Google and its partners, including third-party vendors, may use cookies or similar storage to serve and measure ads. In regions covered by Google's certified consent message, you may also manage individual purposes and vendors. You can reopen the available privacy controls through our footer, manage Google advertising preferences, and learn about industry opt-out choices using the links below.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information described here to operate and secure the website, respond to messages sent to us directly, and maintain our systems. We do not sell personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Play Security Checks
When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks browser and network signals to help prevent automated result submissions. The check loads in the result-saving form after your solving time has stopped. We send the resulting verification token to Cloudflare for validation; we do not send your email or puzzle answers with that validation request. These security checks do not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Advertising Enquiries & Payment Data
For advertising enquiries and bookings, we process the contact details, company information, campaign brief and materials you provide to review suitability, agree scope, communicate with you and maintain booking records. Online checkout is not currently available. If PayHere checkout is enabled in future, the billing details needed to process your payment will be shared with PayHere; card numbers and CVVs will be entered in its hosted checkout and will not be stored by us. Invoice, payment-status, refund and audit records will be retained as needed for billing, disputes and applicable accounting obligations. Do not send card details by email. Contact us for privacy requests.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted providers for hosting, authentication, database and media storage, analytics, tag management, and advertising, including Railway, Supabase, Cloudflare, and Google services. These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms.
Data Retention & Your Rights
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, or as required by law. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your information, and to withdraw cookie consent at any time via the "Privacy and cookie settings" link in the site footer.
